Matthew 16:18: And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.

The church is like a mighty army, programmed by God, never to be prevailed against by hell (Matthew 16:18). Because it is born of God and has God's victorious DNA.
Only one thing stands in its way: the church itself...the army itself. If a soldier is wounded, it would increase the burden on others and may affect the overall effectiveness of an army in battle. A wounded soldier makes your work difficult.
That is why Christ in His last prayer for the disciples, prayed that they may be one even as He protected them (John 17:1) and 1 Cor 13:13 agrees that love is the greatest.
An analogy of the church as the body of Christ buttresses the need that as members of the body, an unhealthy part affects the health of the entire body (1Cor 12:27). That is why you wouldn't find the teeth intentionally biting the tongue...or the hand deliberately bruising the foot. No part of our body would wish another part wounded or sick.
If we would have this mindset as God's children, we would be careful to ensure unity and love in the body of Christ. We would be worried when another soldier is wounded. Because, someway somehow, it makes our work difficult and less effective.
A wounded soldier should also work on their own healing through the love of Christ and love for Christ. An overall healthy body and army would make everyone's race easier and more effective, even as we seek to harvest souls for the Host of the Army of God, Christ Jesus our soon coming King! #UNITYINCHRIST #VICTORYOFTHECHURCH.
